Data Science Rant tips, link to original post.
I came across an article on Twitter recently, posted by @analyticbridge, on some of the misconceptions that entry level data scientists have, along with the reality of what the work entails.
Some of the points he details are, that consultants are usually brought on to data science projects when the project goes bad and people have left and are unable to help. Next, consultants should get paid upfront. Projects can take forever to complete, and they usually entail a lot of cleanup from data scientists. By getting paid upfront, you ensure you are paid for the work. @analyticbridge shares his experience of what can sometimes go wrong with clients.
